If Space is your place, this is your week to shine!

“Space Week” launched in 2017 as an initiative of ‘The Space Consortium’.  Since then, a star-studded constellation of educators, researchers, museums and libraries across Massachusetts enthusiastically brainstorm for novel ways to celebrate the wonders of the universe ~ together.

The week of WOW’s has been so popular, this year (April 20-26th)  a hundred space activities are planned to inspire a desire to look-up and explore the stars above.

Set to engage all ages and abilities a variety of activities are on the week-long flight plan. Space trivia nights, outta-this-world film-screenings and mega-trend hack-a-thons are part of this April’s launch sequence.

Thursday, April 23rd from 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM, the JFK Presidential Library hosts a family-focused extravaganza accelerating FUN in NASA-esque formats.

The day will include:

  • air rocket launches with the MIT Graduate Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics
  • astronaut puppet making workshops
  • a gravity well
  • screening of “The Iron Giant”  an adorable, award-winning  flick about an alien robot forming an unlikely friendship with a nine year old boy from Maine
  • and so much more !

Use the ‘buzzword’ SPACE to reserve FREE tickets on-line at JFK.org or in-person for this very ‘spacial’ day of discovery.

Friday,, April 24th at 3:00 the Museum of Science presents a ‘Beginner’s Guide to Astrophotography’. Nazmus Nasir, member of the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston, will offer the beginner-friendly chat.

From the beauty of the night sky to the gear you’ll need to capture it’s drama Nazmus’ got tips and tricks to share.

Friday Night April 24th, from 8:00- 9:30 PM Boston Common’s Baseball diamond will be an uncommon observatory for star-gazers. Astronomy enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to join this inaugural event. Members of U.Mass Astronomy Club and ‘Dark Skymass.org’ will be on deck to help you explore the wonders of the universe in the heart of the City.  This free event is open to all!
