Fans of 41 year old Harry Mountbattan-Wiindsor and 44 year old Meghan Markle won’t be fans of Tom Bower’s book, “Betrayal: Power, Deceit, and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family”. It’s a 43 chapter recitation of childish tantrums. However, for those of us who love a spot of hot gossip with our Lady Earl Grey ~ read on!
Under the soft skies of London, the spotlights of Hollywood, or the glowing sunsets of Montecito there are no lights in this book to flatter this disastrous duo.
“Betrayal” is a collection of anecdotes about the scheming social climbers who use and abuse those near their glow. Masquerading as perpetual victims H & M, as they call themselves, embody the spirit of equality, in reality they’re equal opportunity offenders of the Realm and relations.
Harry and Meghan are self-described as people who suffer with profound mental illness. In that context they are entitled to our empathy.
Nonetheless, following the advice of the late civil-rights activist and poet, Maya Angelou, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time”. It’s difficult to know from reading “Betrayal” whether these royal-teas are conspicuously ill or simply ill-mannered.
Readers may look for excuses for their self-serving choices. But, Bower the investigative journalist credited with writing more than 25 books, documents how these renegade royals compromise family, friends and acquaintances with obsessive palace malice.

Living in a bubble they can’t afford to float without other people’s money. “Betrayal” landmarks how the two beg, litigate and skim for cash and cachè around the world.
“Betrayal” air’s an heir’s dirty laundry without any sense of royal decency. With so few charitable enterprises left for Harry and Meg to loot it’s possible “Blackmail” about these not so loyal-subjects will be the subject of Bower’s next book.
