It’s not that her husband wasn’t a perfectly fine North Shore kinda guy, it’s not their marriage failed, it’s more like they were never in synch. The thought of rebooting towards reconciliation wasn’t part of her program.
The challenges of the young divorcee in ‘start-up’ mode are written with psychological pacing that copies the bike route Chelsea takes to historic battlegrounds in Concord and on to exotic destinations across the globe. Transportation is, in many ways, a cleaver nuance in the process of telling this love story of maturation.
Reidy’s chronicle of sex-capades are modestly lusty with echos of the stuff that fills a girl’s postcoidal head. Chelsea makes rookie mistakes, she plays and slays in sloppy ways until consequences help her find the algorithm of reconciling her history with her choices.
