“Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, It’s Cover-Up and His Disastrous Choice To Run Again” summarizes our national conciseness and an undignified transfer of presidential powers.

Without political bias, it’s a matter-of-fact read of preservation of political capital at all costs. Perhaps unintentionally, it also highlights our cultural intolerance of the human condition.

Written by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson “Original Sin” chronicles a series of anecdotes deployed to cover-up the mental and physical decline of a man.  As a history book it’s an unflattering look at power players surrounding President Joe Biden. As social commentary it’s a study of ego, greed and abuse.

“Original Sin” reveals the consequences of ignoring the ravages of time.  It makes it clear our collective conscience felt more comfortable ignoring the needs of the leader of the free world than addressing his needs with a dignified transfer of power to Vice President Kamala Harris.

This book is an account of monumental frailty not only of a man but our society. Dressed-up and powered-up, Joe Biden was a pawn, playing a role on our political landscape. In this book it often appears his position as president served the needs of a few rather than the common~wealth.

The tone of this 314 page book is unemotional. It sites sources on-and-off-the-record and tactics deployed to manage the President’s schedule as well as his  faltering image. Obvious by omission is any sense of compassion for the man’s issues or how his problems impacted our Nation.

Without context for potential motive, readers are left to assume Joe Biden’s advisers were motivated by personal profiteering, enjoying the perks of proximity to presidential cachè and cash-flows.

The charade of the President’s strong constitution posed a compromise to the Constitution of the United States. In hind-site, the denial of Joe Biden’s condition and unwillingness to transfer power with dignity leaves room for our culture to fully examine an unaddressed bias towards aging both professionally and personally.

The sad circumstances of President Joe Biden’s decline are the focus of “Original Sin”.  It’s saving grace serves as a wake-up call for all of us to address the compassionate care of elders in our family-of-man.
