02840 is a city of many legends. It’s sea-foamed beauty is breathtaking and it’s mansions are mesmerizing. But, we can’t overlook our fascination with the sizzle of scandals that transcend it’s tonie-code. If only those Cliff-walk rocks could dish!

For those of us who binge-watch HBO’s “The Gilded Age” we’re wow’ed by scenes of Newport’s sweeping vistas, grand decors and opulent couture. They’ve become mainstays of the docu-series that, it’s third award-winning season, continues to gain in popularity.
As posh as the period appointments are, between episodes it’s the sting of Agnes van Rhijn’s Uber-WASPY snarkiness we crave like bittersweet candy.

Boston’s Jared Bowen, host of “The Culture Show” GBH’s daily, radio/podcast, will moderate a conversation with the Julliard trained star at the Elms. There, Ms. Baranski will discuss “The Gilded Age” her appearances in “The Good Wife”, “Nine Perfect Strangers“, “Frasier” as well as her personal ties to the era.
