The USS Constitution AKA ‘Old Ironsides’ is the world’s oldest commissioned war ship still afloat ( Boston’s Charlestown Navy Yard)
Oliver Wendall Holmes Sr. penned the poem “Old Ironsides” and gave Boston it’s moniker ‘The Hub of the Universe”. In 1830 the doc’s intentions were sarcastic exaggerations of the truth. But, it was his way to say this City is home to some mighty heavy-hitters.
Modern-day Bostonians remain notorious for embellishing our times in poetic ways. Our famed accent elevates trash-talkin’ to an art-form chiding cultural leaders and sports idols alike. In the Hub, Trashn’ is a recognized term of endearment.

Because history rings around the cobblestones of our sports coliseums we link legends with landmarks. ‘Bucky F*n Dent’ is an infamous Boston colloquialism that covers a lot of ground.
This City thrives on competition, we expect excellence with each play, We’re born with do-or-die in our constitutional DNA. The Hub is all-in on all-sports because the principles of each game are translations of what’s best in our culture.
Saturday, December 27th the Hub of the Universe, will transform Fenway Park, our baseball field of dreams into a fortress of football. The National Landmark will host the Huskies of UConn and the Army’s Black Knights of West Point. The legendary match-up will also be an epic battle for trash-talkin’ aficionados.
Seniors from both teams will man the gridiron. Fusing scholarship with the history of American exceptionalism, football fans are in for four quarters of gladiator-level excitement.
