This year marks the 100th celebration of the National Christmas Tree Lighting!

Wednesday, November 30th on the Ellipse in President’s Park, the National Park Service with the National Park Foundation will host this beloved American tradition with special decorations and live musical performances ~ just before the countdown to the lighting of the Christmas Tree begins!

An on-line lottery opened today and closes November 1st at 10A.M offering free tickets to this spectacular event.

To enter for your chance to win visit: www.recreation.gov and click TICKET LOTTERY. You may also call  877 444 6777 to enter the lottery by phone. Lottery applicants will be notified about their ticket status on Nov. 8th.

The National Christmas Tree area will open to the public December 2nd..

If you can’t make it to see the tree in DC, CBS will broadcast the National Christmas Tree lighting event on December 11th, at 8PM.
