HBO’s “Heated Rivalry” is a modern-day soap opera. It’s so hot it’s giving people a fever they just can’t shake.
‘She’ wondered if the sensationalized drama was little more than a salacious peek at playfully romantic gay porn. But, it turns out it’s binge-worthy because the real story is a lot more complicated than watching a few guys get steamy. Like so many well written plot-twisters ‘Heated Rivalry‘ revolves around forbidden love, an emotional catalytic zone and the addictive ecstasy of wondering ‘what-happens-next’.

For some watching ‘Heated’ will be a transcendent experience. It can be compared to the sensation you have when you slip on the ice. You know you’ve lost control, you feel anxiety, and a rush. You’re up in the air. You know you’re going to hit the ground, but you aren’t sure where you’ll land or how life will change when you get there. The confusion, anticipation, and agony ~ they’re all in ‘Heated Rivalry’

To be sure, each ‘Heated” frame is filled with breathless eye-candy. Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, playing Ilya Romanov and Shane Hollander, are the principal hotties flaming emotional plot-lines. Their punch-lines are amusing, erotic, and tender-hearted. Drawn to each other from the start these star-crossed lovers own the ice as hockey players from opposing teams. At the top-of-their-games, they are stone-cold professional rivals. But, the chiseled athletes melt in the warm spaces they share privately as lust changes to love.
